I'd love to see what you'd do with a R/Hr. A short one. Your only one. *cough* Always good to have *one* in different pairings.... Just as long as it's not a habit...
I agree with you on Luna-love her by herself, but she'd drive Ron insane in oblivious ways... I think he needs someone with an edge, who doesn't mind getting her/his hands dirty and shouting a bit.
I could see Luna paired with several people in the short term, that might be fun. Friends with benefits, as someone who came into a life and left it changed. I can see her with Neville, Harry, Ron and Snape that way--but really hard to see it as being forever, because in the end I think Luna would drive them all nuts--even Harry, though I think he's more plausible long-term than the others.
I think the best pairing for Luna I've ever read put her with Charlie. He's practically an OC, so he can be made to fit, and they share a love of Magical Creatures. In that sense, I feel JKR did right by Luna in interview canon--putting her with Scamander, making her a naturalist. I'm not one who ever saw her fitting Neville.
And Neville and a shy 'Puff like Hannah would suit nicely actually.
Well, I read all over the place really (and consider myself to have two other OTPs-Drarry and Ron/Pansy) so it surprises me a bit that I haven't written more outside the ship and very little that directly contradicts it. Apparently I am more OTP than I thought.
I actually loathe Luna/Neville with a passion-it strikes me as ridiculous for reasons that I've never really examined. I very much like the thought of Luna/Charlie (even if I prefer the thought of Charlie as the gay Weasley, because statistically speaking it's kind of inevitable).

I loathe Neville/Luna too, even if I couldn't quite articulate it. Just because they're the unpaired part of the "Ministry Six" doesn't mean they belong together.
Lots of large families actually don't have gay child though. I think it's no more than say 3 percent really from studies I've seen (although I believe it's more a continuum than an absolute, but that in homophobic cultures you don't see the full expression).
Although, if you're going to make Charlie gay, I like him with Draco. Cuz the idea of a dragon rider/tamer/whisperer with someone named "dragon" is just too good.

Heeee. So true.
Harry and Luna do have this really sweet moment in OotP, where they connect over losing their mothers. Maybe. I could be convinced. But Ron? Snape? Neville? Long term. No.
