UNless they're blond, and it's lust...

I've not seen the film but I suspected they'd gut her character. I love Howl. I think he's a Malfoy

Don't. Both Howl and Sophie are two of my favourite characters ever, and... It was terrible, made even worse by the fact that they totally skipped the bit about Sophie's magic and made the Witch of the Waste go from crazy witch to drooling vegetable to harmless grandmother by the end of the film...

Even the scene in which Howl accidentally dyes his hair the wrong colour fell totally flat.

I had to wash the taste out of my mouth by reading the sequels, which came as a relief.

I don't think I'll be watching it then. I'd heard really good things about the animation, but if they've buggered around with those two what's the point.

The director is highly acclaimed in the world of Japanese anime, and writes his own scripts... Apparently this was his first attempt at adapting something, and I got the sense that the story in the book got in the way of the story he wanted to tell and the characters he wanted to portray. I haven't written him off as a total lost cause, but only because I just had a very involved debate with someone (who is dressing up as lust, and is sort of blond) about his merits and failings as a director.

If it helps, I'm going as a Christmas present. It's part of a larger, Christmas-themed extravaganza.

I swear this one was not my idea. Really.

PS The red cups are out on the 5th. Apparently their feature drink for the year is a dark cherry mocha. I'm not really sure what cherries have to do with christmas...

Didn't someone once dress up as a gift from God to women? And was there spandex involved?

Cherries are... red? Otherwise, I'm about as lost as you are. And a bit sickened by the thought of cherry mochas. Urgh.
