I really should know better than to try to be productive in the honours library, but I have a meeting with my advisor in an hour and the library proper was full and last night was the most unproductive night of my existence.
NO, I DO NOT WANT TO KNOW WHICH SIN YOU ARE DRESSING UP AS FOR HALLOWE'EN.
In the depths of last night's procrastination, I watched the animated film of Howl's Moving Castle and thought it was terrible. They butchered the plot and made Howl into this self-sacrificing noble character, whose hair was brown by the end. Blond. He is blond. And self-centred, vain, and much more fond of his hair care products than that movie rendition let on. I normally like Christian Bale, but his voice was just... just... no. Howl is Welsh!
When they took away Sophie's old lady spunk and turned the film into a melodramatic love story and I nearly threw something at the screen. Diana Wynne Jones is practical-it's why I love her books so much. People should stop trying to turn my favourite books into movies, because it so rarely goes well.
