Bwwwwwwwaaaaaaaaaah

Well, if you want to avoid dripping orifices, never, ever read on AFF.

I don't know why I even try... Glutton for punishment.

As I am learning. However, I think that the dripping orifices have been breeding with greater frequency, as they are spreading to other areas of the internet.

Sluts.

I have to poke my nose into the conversation here, because I just did that EXACT THING last night.

I was looking through FF.NET. It was fine, but I ran out of search string options. So I figured hey, why not try AFF.NET? It's supposed to be pretty much the same, right?

Er...

The first story. The flipping FIRST STORY I read hit me with a of 'dripping orifices' so big I almost drowned.

Can people believe this really happens??? (OK, it does, but RARELY, and you've got to have the most amazing plot to back it up.)

Always keep your lube with you! And a towel for later...

The difference between FFN and AFF is the rating-there are people who can manage a decent plot and have readable writing, but let them bring in sex and suddenly they lose sight of that. It's why I skim over most sex scenes.

Dripping orifices are not sexy; they are dangerous.

LOL. I totally agree. I've been on AFF lately, and I have to say that each new fic I read (or attempted to read) was even worse than the previous. Seriously, that archive is full of shit. And thinking that ppl spit on FF.net. I mean, FF.net is utter crap, but AFF is even worse. At least on FF.net you can find something readable, but on AFF there's nothing worth spending your time on. Bad grammar, porn without plot, childish/ridiculous storylines ect.

Yep. Dripping orifices are dangerous, but even more dangerous are all the people who actually prize those fics... I'd run away if I ever were to meet them.

Truth be told, I've actually read things just as cringeworthy on moderated archives. I mean, 'dripping orifices' don't exactly break the sacred laws of grammar, even if I'm sure that Lynne Truss wishes they did...

I'd run away if I ever were to meet them.

Tragically, trends suggest that these people are in the majority...

*snerk* very good observation (note to self change dripping to gushing, hmm I don't think that's better).

I won't be joining the aff bashing. Sure most of it's crap, but it's smutty crap which you know going in. And as you have stated dripping has definitely made it to moderated archives.

Gushing... Erm, no.

Shitfic is everywhere-moderated archives just make it more difficult to sift through, since you can't decide to pass on a fic on the basis of spelling mistakes in the summary. And someone needs to tell fandom that decent spelling does not make a good story...

But my moderated archive rant is for another time, another day, possibly behind a flock.

Shullat scrambled back from the lip of the newly formed pit, his mouth full of dust and his ears ringing with the screams of the slaves as they fell into oblivion. This was no longer a simple repair to the village well.

"You curse Inanna, this is what happens," Enki muttered, hauling his master back from the still disintegrating edge. The ground rumbled as some great beast turned below, disturbed by the repetitive thumping of their digging staves. "You should have brought a bull to sacrifice."

Shullat heard water, echoing in a vast space.

This could prove problematic, he thought.

*cackles*

If you don't mind professions of undying love, you may feel free to consider this one.

I do hope that the beast about to attack them is not equipped with a dripping orifice. That might prove perilous.

~bows~ You are most welcome. I could not pass up such a prompt.

I was envisioning that the beast attacking them was nothing BUT dripping orifice. Hence the sound of water falling. (Angry earth goddesses strike back. Film at eleven.)

Oh, good, I was hoping I wasn't reading that in.
