I 0% post on LJ now but holy shit what the fuck happened to Fantasy? That was my go to "when I have time" daydream fodder and they turned it in to 40k with swords? I have an attic full of half finished armies, dammit.

Not sure I quite follow: Is the tournament scene reverting now to 7th edition, or just abandoning Fantasy altogether?

My brother, who doesn't play in tournaments but does play at local hobby stores, took about two months off from using phone conversations to tell me about various relationship or work-related problems and instead just kept complaining about Age of Sigmar.
