It's been a long time coming. After playing for seventeen years and through four editions, Games Worskhop has radically changed their Warhammer Fantasy game to the point where the only similarity between the old and new games are the models themselves. I sympathize and am jealous at the same time; let me explain.
I can't find an RPG group, of any sort, out here, to save my life.
:(
so I am jealous of the fact that you have had an organization as large as you have, for as long as you have.

That said; Having watched first White wolf and then D&D splinter and splinter and then sort of die entirely; I can feel the pain of watching a once world of wonder turn on itself and get cancerous.

I still have the memories, I still have a good 6 or more feet of book shelf devoted to gaming right behind my chair and a few hundred PDFs in my phone that I skim through. I sit and read Monster Manuals and modules, thinking about "How Jeff's Character Ivan would have dealt with THIS" and the like.

I REALLY hope that you find some group of like minded Warhammer enthusiasts who have decided to freeze the rules at some point ("After X update, and before Y update" When it didn't suck too much") and still play.
=That would be a huge win=

Perhaps you could reach out to people you know and suggest such a thing; I know, I am suggesting a unicorn hunt, but still. My heart is in the right place; on the shelf by my Phylactery.

I've tried online gaming; LOTR , World of Warcraft, D&D Online. Bleh. I still replay single play campaigns in some games, but the human interaction/imagination is not there.

Worse still my need to create images of fear and horror in other peoples minds has devolved into my writing short stories based in the Delta Green/Call of Cthulhu universe. (I have to let The Wyrm out to play somehow).

I hope you don't fall down that pit. ;-)

much love, loyalty and respect. Peace from me to you.
