Awesome! Do you know the name of the troupe that performed?

I like how my face is like ... nothing is happening. Oh yes. Indeed. I am dancing very quickly and spinning a lot. How about that.

Also note to self: Pin your hipscarf.

In a lot of the ones that were way, way too distorted to show, we are both wearing GIGANTIC GRINS. Like, how can you not come out of spins grinning like a loony?

You guys looked great. And, yes, Flissy, pinning everything on my hips (skirts, scarves *and* pants) has now become second nature!! You'd think it'd be a simple lesson for me to learn.

I love this. It makes me want to find somewhere to take a class. Also, I love your clothes. So bright and fabulous! This might be a stupid question, but do you make them (you ARE crafty and all!) or do you get them somewhere specific? I had a brief, unsuccessful foray into belly dancing DVDs once, and I remember having to resort to ebay. Suggestions?

The top is vintage Rajastani (as far as I know) and was bought at a local world trading/textiles store. The skirt is Tribe Nawaar. I really only trust Tribe Nawaar & Flying Skirts for my skirts, even though they cost a little more, because the quality is amazing. I make a lot of my accessories, though. Headpieces, sometimes neckwear and earrings. I always sew my own bras, though I've been wearing cholis & sari tops in the heat. I get my cholis at one of the above shops, and my sari tops came from a vendor at FaerieCon.
