The hafla
The hafla went well. We danced to the super, super, super fast "Occurrence at the Border" by Gogol Bordello, and we spun and spun and spun. marinatempest literally shimmied her hip scarf right off! I also loved seeing a lot of the student dancers who were getting up there for maybe their first or second time-- they looked so stoked! Unfortunately, my camera was being at total bunghole, whether it be the mixed light source or the low battery, so all the pics are grainy at best. Sorry, Meredith-- I did get two decent ones of Lilam, but everything looks like it was filmed underwater. Ah well.
This morning, I went with Jason to get his tattoo finished at Britishink. Liaa smoothed out and filled in the horizon over his wave in brilliant sunset tones. Because he's diabetic and a hard healer, he will probably have to go back for one more touch-up, but honestly, everything looks fantastic.
Liaa also let slip that she has a tabletop kiln up for grabs that's been gathering dust in her basement. Most exxxxxcellent. Once I get the hang of small projects and earring components, look forward to lovely jeweled silver leaves in the fall! :)
