I'm a big fan of Unshelved. It's got book meta, bad customers patrons, & Dewey is my second favourite fictional librarian after Giles. And this strip is a prime example of why Unshelved is so awesome.

John From Cincinnati has been cancelled. I never even got around to watching it in the first place ( Read more... )

But yay for Nichelle!

There are rumours floating around that Kristen is looking into going back on Broadway instead. I mean, whatever floats her boat, but I think appearing on Lost would've been a good way to break out of the VM mold.

I know! Nichelle has always seemed so cool, it's going to be awesome to see her again. (I really hope she & George have some scenes together, just for the geek factor. ;))

I agree about the Collector's Edition stuff. It's so annoying. I just bought Zodiac, annoyed that it had no bouns anything and then before the movie starts is a preview for a 2 disc Collector's Edition of the movie coming out in Feb of next year. Geez, people. :(

I haven't looked around about Serenity, do you by any chance know what's different about it compared to the regular DVD?

NM, I followed the Amazon link and it had what's different. Hmph, I don't know if its enough yet to figure out if I'm just going to buy it.

I've always felt that it's kinda like a slap in the face to the consumer. I bought Serenity shortly after it was released, because I liked Firefly & wanted to support the franchise (as well as loving the movie). And the main reason we're getting a new edition is because the original DVD sold so well. That's just ... not right, you know. :/

Yeah it really is. It really isnt' right to use fan's willingness and love for shows to make money. I really love people like Joss and Peter Jackson, but really, they need to realize that it makes us feel stupid to throw money out for another edition of the same movie. I can't even count how many duplicate movies I have now because of that kinda thing. :/

It's interesting about these Star Trek guest-stars will be on Heroes, especially with Zachary going to play Spock in the new film. I just find it a little funny, even with Hiro doing the Vulcan sign a few times. Hee.

Awww, Kristen Bell. I know she's doing the voiceovers for Gossip Girl, but I would love to actually SEE her on television again.

I'm definitely going to buy the collector's edition of Serenity. Though I agree with the business sales just wanting to gain more money, this'll have more extra goodies including a cast commentary. Something I've been waiting for since the movie came out, and I love commentaries. Plus, the DVD coverart is so much better than the original US one.

I think that the Heroes people are geeks just like us. :D Last season, there was a nod to Doctor Who (CE as Claude saying 'Fantastic') & now all this Star Trek stuff. It's so awesome. :D

Lost might not be the best show on the air, but I think Kristen might have made a mistake turning it down. It's certainly more popular than VM (in terms of the general tv audience) & it wouldn't been a nice way to get her face out there. I really hope this Broadway thing she's been talking about works out for her.

Oh, I think that the new edition is definitely worth buying; the goodies are awesome ... but Joss has said that the only reason we're getting them is because the original version sold so well. (Then the DVD came and they took me aside and said "We can't keep these things on the shelf. We want to do a special edition." ) And I just wish that Joss would've had the guts to put that kind of stuff on the original edition. :/ But yeah, nature of the business & all. And if I ever get a spare $20, I'll probably buy it. :( I just hate having to buy ( ... )

Somehow, that doesn't surprise me. I'd always meant to watch it - because Bobby from SPN was in it - but I never did get past more than ten minutes of a single ep. I just didn't find the concept that intriguing or new.

I was never even that clear on what the concept actually was. 'Surf noir', yeah... but what did that mean? *sigh*

It was pretty neat how Jim Beaver managed to fit three different shows into his schedule this past year. He's a great character actor. :)
