I are Sims Sig. This are Sims thread.

It's just such a relief to work on a computer and not have to worry about Parallels, Exchange Server, or Remote Desktop. So I've been unwinding by playing the Sims, and specifically in recreating two families: The Utonium family and the Mythbusters family. ( Sadly, no pics yet. )

television, geekery, sims, gaming

Squee! Grant Mythbuster! Squee! Squee!

I hope your computer will quit crashing, because I'd love to see Grant. (I love him, you know.)

I have had two casual woohoos now. The second time was a married couple. I'm still waiting for more exciting things to happen.

Do you know what STR and LTR stand for?

Squee, squee! Grant!

Oh, no. I'm sure that Jamie will hand-craft a Servo to be Buster. Hell, at the rate he's plowing through the badges, maybe by the end of the week....

STR: short-term relationship. Conversely, LTR: long-term relationship. You know how you spend one day talking to a Sim and your relationship numbers are 50/10 or some such? That's the STR/LTR.

And w00t for casual woohoos!

I'm sad to say I'm not quite happy with the way that Grant came out -- I can't look at him and immediately recognize him as Grant. (So I could use tips, or even a hand-crafted Sim...!)

My first attempt at a custom neighborhood ended in the tragic "OMG, Where did all the buildings I spent days on go?!" syndrome. Eventually Hogsmeade will rise again. After that I may even make some Sims to shove in there.

Haven't yet figured out if my computer will be able to run the Seasons expansion or not.

I don't know if I want to bother with Seasons or not. Sure, there's the whole Plantlife thing, but I really shouldn't have installed Pets. If it weren't for the "No Pets Allowed" paintings, I'd have gone nuts from the strays, not to mention the skunks....

Seasons has advantages you can get from having gardens, though. Like potion type advantages.

But thanks for the "no pets allowed" tip; I hadn't realized one of those was in there. I can lower the strayness.

I wonder, now, if there's a way to de-scent a skunk.

I downloaded it from...er, somewhere. Can't quite remember where. A cursory glance over MATY and the wiki doesn't enlighten me either. I'll investigate in the game. I need to rebuild Utonium's club; had to trash it, as it was crashing me game.

You know you can probably download the "both bald and bereted" at someplace like www.modthesims2.com

It didn't even occur to me that it wasn't possible until trying to build Jamie. Gah. I'm poking around MTS2 and not finding anything readily available yet. Grumble. But I'll keep my eyes peeled.

I've been totally not paying attention to new Sims expansions for some time now. You're seriously making me consider plunking down some money for the expansions even though I probably wouldn't be able to play them for a couple of months now....
What's the issue with pets?? Too much breeding? Where the hell is Bob Barker when you need him?
Porkchop Sandwiches as a show is brilliant. If I get mine up and running again soon, you must tell me how to do it.
