I went to the Mannion Lecture today to hear the Governor General talk about trust. The Mannion lecture is an annual thing for the public service and can be really interesting as different people talk about something important to them, and how it might apply to public service. Yes, especially the kitten. She worries during the night that I'm not breathing right or something, and bites my nose.

When I lived alone with just Minnie, she would often wake me up at night hovering over my face and tickling me with her whiskers. I liked to think she was checking on my breathing and not trying to drive me crazy.

Cats are so weird. That behaviour would drive me nuts because I'm a light sleeper.

Gatita, my cat who died last fall, used to sleep on me. Thankfully she wasn't a large cat, but it did make rolling over a challenge. I thought Pandora, my other cat, was the bottom cat in a two cat household because she rarely slept on the bed when Gatita was alive, but started to sleep with me after she died. When I got Mambo (the kitten), Pandora went back to sleeping in the hallway. She gets along really well with Mambo, so I think she just prefers that space and only slept with me because she was lonely. I really hope Mambo settles down at some point.
