I can't find anything specific about this product and food/water safety, but since iodophors are commonly used topically in food animals, and as cage cleaners for pocket pets, I can't imagine it being problematic for cats as long as you rinse everything copiously after using it...

We could do that. The product is meant, per the instructions on the bottle, to be used as the last rinse and the user is instructed to air-dry. When iodophors are used as cage cleaners for pocket pets, do they need to be rinsed off?

I am not familiar with this specific product, and I was unable to find any specific statements about safety for use in food and water bowls in cats for iodophors, so in order to cover all my bases and be careful, I can't tell you to just go ahead and use it without rinsing. Whether or not it's safe, I have no evidence in one direction or another, so I can't make any concrete statements.

Yes; we do rinse cages after washing them.
