It's been over a year since I've posted here at LJ but I didn't give up checking in and commenting from time to time. Somehow after losing Bernie, I just didn't know what to write. It's been a difficult year (in a month) but I think I'm slowly coming out the other side. I owe a debt of gratitude to

Welcome back. Kathryn and I didn't conspire to write about the year before the Battle but it did work out well. We agreed not to read the other's version so were not confused but some of the readers who read us both were. I can imagine what it was like for you having to keep us internally consistent.

We have lovely fall weather here and my alma mater just beat UCLA so I am drinking some modestly priced champagne.

Oh would that it were so! I'd love to sit around shooting the breeze with you while the sauce simmers for hours. I'll be delighted to send you the recipe once I write it down. I do it 'on the fly' just as I was taught. Measure? We don't need to stinkin' measure! I sure hope you don't have as much trouble with the ingredients for this recipe as you did for the pumpkin bread. Did you ever make it? I actually thought of you this morning when I heard on the radio that there's some trouble finding the 16 oz cans of pumpkin. Since the weather just turned cool enough to think about pumpkin bread I can't confirm or deny. I'll be in touch.
