The pole shift wouldn't affect temperature, HOWEVER, electronics in space are usually pretty much fucked with major changes in the magnetosphere. So I wouldn't say it's not a concern. Basically along the magnetosphere lines, there's trapped ions/electrons/plasma/funstuff that travel up and down the lines, and it's the reason for auroras and why you can only really see them at the poles. The Earth is basically a sphere with a very slow spinning bar magnet in it, magnetically ( ... )
