Warren, for the most part, seemed to be settling in well enough, just so long as the cat stayed in places that were intended for cats, and didn't do things like, say, attempt to chew on the resident parakeet. He'd disliked the cabins last term, mostly because he barely fit into an alcove unless he was hugging himself with his wings. But when he was this size, it wasn't really all that bad.
He eyed Yei for a moment more, and then chirped and started running his feathers through his beak, making burbling sounds that translated, more or less, to 'it's going to take me weeks to straighten these feathers, I'm going to get my revenge on you, Yei, just you wait.'
The great mysteries of what budgies chatter about, finally solved.
Knowing something could happen wasn't the same at all as being present while it happened and she'd gone from having a bird in her alcove to having a naked man in her room in seconds.
Was it really any surprise that Hinata flailed and went vibrantly pink and, well, that was--a top, of some girly sort--being flung haphazardly in his direction as she abruptly turned around so she didn't see anything.
"I'm sorry!" she managed, mortified, even if it wasn't her place to apologize.

"Yei cannot understand you," Hinata said, looking up from refolding a shirt.
Neither could she, in all honesty, but that wasn't going to stop her from responding. It would be rude to just ignore him.

This next bout of burbling went something like, burble chirp squeak chirp chee-"-feel free to h--AH!"
And then Warren was tumbling from the bedknob to the bed, and from the bed to the floor.
... And then he was covering himself. Quickly. Go figure.

She waved one hand helplessly. "There was a... situation," Hinata managed. "No one is hurt."
Except, perhaps, Warren's pride.

Sorry, Hinata. Karla'd had a stressful couple of weeks. She was a little uptight.

She reddened.
"He was a bird," Hinata explained. "And then he..."
Well. Hadn't been?
