Disclaimer: I own absolutely nothing. Super Junior belong to themselves and Al-A-Din and the Wonderful Lamp is a story from A Thousand and One Nights and Walt Disney.
Note: So, since this is the 'Princess' series, this story focuses more on 'Jasmine/The Princess' and...not so much the lamp.
Summary: Prince Hyukjae is at the age where his palace is a revolving door of suitors. Suddenly, a newcomer shakes things up.
It was well into the morning when Dong Hai seemed to be landing. Hyukjae was awed. In one night, Dong Hai had shown him...everything. The great sphinx, the beautiful amazon, fireworks shining over a festival in Xi'an - these were places Hyukjae had only ever read about, with wild dreams about seeing them. And Dong Hai...
The palace grew bigger in view...but not Hyukjae's. A new, unfamiliar place in the kingdom. Hyukjae looked over at Dong Hai for some hint of an explanation, in return Dong Hai smile.
“I said I was building a palace for you...” The carpet landed and like a gentleman, Dong Hai held out his hand to lift Hyukjae off.
The palace was...humble. Steps up and a grand courtyard was a breath of fresh air. Bright lotus blossoms sparkled in the morning sun, like eternal snowflakes outside the window. Hyukjae reached out his hand, petting so gentle a grand statue of a bronze fish, jumping out a pot of lapis lazuli.
From the other side of the court, Hyukjae found his father and Prince Shi Yuan entering. “Hyukjae-goon! Prince Dong Hai! Your palace, I must say, you have truly surprised me. It is quite magnificent.” Jungsu clamped his shoulder, with a bright smile. “I believe my son will be quite happy here. Prince Dong Hai, you have my - ”
“Wait!” Dong Hai interrupted. Everyone stared at him, but Dong Hai only focused at Hyukjae. Slowly, he took their hands together. “Hyukjae-ah...will you marry me?”
He could hear his heart in his ears, spreading warmth through his skin. His lips broke out so wide, his gums shining through. He gripped Dong Hai's hand just as tight.
“Yes.”
Wow...Dong Hai's smile took up all of his face. In a moment, Hyukjae was off his feet, spinning in a tight embrace with his fiance (heehee...who would've ever thought he'd had said that word.) Shi Yuan and Jungsu grinned, applauding grandly.
The wedding had the whole kingdom up in celebration. Hyukjae walked hand in hand, giggling over and over at the wishes he heard down the road. Rice glided over the great white robe he wore - one that mirrored Dong Hai's beside him.
When he giggled about the wishes, he also giggled over one word - husband.
Far away, he could hear the celebration continuing well into the night. Crickets chirped outside in the garden of Dong Hai's palace, made especially for Hyukjae. A nightingale sang softly in the night. If he paid more attention, he probably could hear a hundred more sounds, but all his attention was focused on the man staring back at him.
“Are you happy, my prince?” Dong Hai whispered. His finger dragged the back of Hyukjae's hand, holding tight to his other hand.
“Happy?” Hyukjae smiled. Sighing, he turned and stared up where he could see stars. (Where had the roof gone?) “I'm seeing stars.” He giggled.
Dong Hai breathed him in, turning up just the same. “We'll be up there, together.” Dong Hai pulled himself closer to Hyukjae. Hyukjae nestled himself beneath his chin, finding his place and enjoying it. He felt a heartbeat next to his ear alongside Dong Hai's final words before he was lulled to sleep.
“Forever...I promise.”
