I haven't said much about it, but Denver is in the middle of a heat wave. Tomorrow, we break a longstanding record of consecutive days above 90 degrees. It will be the 18th day in a row and there is no end in sight. In fact, it's going to get hotter, rising to 99 and 101 in the next couple of days

I've only had AC for the last 5 years or so, so I know it's *possible* to survive those temps without it, but it's not pleasant.

Nope, just making it by hand. It really wasn't much harder than the white bread. Rising takes longer, but with the half white/half whole wheat flour mixture it isn't too hard to handle. Just remember that it takes the wheat flour longer to absorb the liquid. I just took a break to wash the dough off my hands and by the time I got back to it, it was pretty much perfect. The dough is a little denser and I kneaded it a little longer because of that.
