I was personally too distracted by craftsmanship issues with the structure and pacing of the episode as a whole to be too concerned with the Daniel/Vala ship- in context I thought it was fine. I'm a little surprised that no one strangled anyone else, however. (Like Mitchell!)
And I'm expecting ::counts on fingers::, um, OT7 fics any time now. That would be Sam/Vala/Daniel/Mitchell/Teal'c/Landry/Thor, of course... *g*

You know, I think it's going to take some time for me to digest this ep. Because even though I haven't said much about it, the loss of the Asgard is huge. And sad. I'm assuming that the knowledge base hasn't been lost, merely turned off for the moment. Hopefully.

But Daniel was an asshole to her. He does this 180 turn around like you said and kisses her and she just goes with it after she was crying her eyes out. WTF? I'm hoping Daniel apologized to her soon after that tirade.
I'm not sure if the scene's getting easier for me after repeated viewings or not. The way he says "in a million years" just really upsets me.

All I can say is that people say some horrible things when they're upset. I suspect Vala made him pay for it in more ways than one.
