A/N: Another drabble attempt, didn't quite succeed with the 100 word count.

The end was never something a nation wanted to contemplate. America knew that countries were born and died. He knew that there were many who had come before him.
He hoped that if there was ever a day when he no longer existed, the idea of him would remain. The idea that defined all that he was, what he attempted to portray.
The idea was simple and born in the hearts of people who lived in his land. His land that spanned from sea to shining sea. Land so vast that it had once seemed endless, an unconquerable wilderness. This place had inspired an idea. That idea was freedom. Freedom to have any dream a person could dream.
Perhaps it was an unattainable ideal, but as one of his own people had said, “In these higher aspirations, it is important to strive, not only to achieve”.
