“Brother don’t go!”
Prussia paused hooking his weapon to his belt as a small blonde boy ran up and threw his arms around his waist, holding tightly. The boy had been growing quickly, he would probably be able to throw his arms around his neck the next time he saw him. The older nation sighed setting his sword aside and kneeling down so that he could gather the younger in his arms. He really hoped Brandenburg and Saxony would not see him, because he would never hear the end of it.
“Don’t worry West, I’ll be back.” he muttered into the top of young Germany’s head. He had given him the nickname for where he had found him. Not the most creative nickname from the awesome Prussia, but it would suit. He patted the soft hair gently. Germany was one of the few people he did not feel awkward showing affection to.
The boy sniffed, pulling away, looking up at his brother with serious blue eyes, “You don’t know that! You taught me anything can happen in war!”
Prussia flashed the kid a lopsided smile, “I do know that I’ll come back though.”
“How?”
“Because that’s just how awesome I am.” Prussia winced as Germany’s small fist connected with his arm, the kid was certainly getting strong. “And besides, I’ll come back for you.”
“Promise?”
“Promise.” said Prussia giving the boy one last pat on the head and whirling around, gathering up his weapons and leaving in what he thought was a pretty cool exit. Somewhere he was pretty sure he heard one of his other brothers laughing.
