I really dislike when anybody tries to see any ulterior motive behind Ukitake's love for children. These days when a man treats children kindly he's immediately accused of having unhealthy interest in them. Therefore I'm really glad how well you put it.

Thank you, and I know what you mean. It is something I dislike, too, as though there wasn't enough pushing people to show less healthy affection and more of a peurile interest in each other. This issue would come up, too, after Kyouraku's comments to Staark in that last conflict. I didn't set out to write a story about this sort of awkwardness coming between friends, but the prompt just evolved that way. Cheers!
