I really enjoyed this event last year, so I decided to do it again rather than The Rookie (evidently I feel I must do some sub-sprint triathlon each Spring). Jamie decided that rather than have me do another 100 mile ride the day before, he'd actually give me a little recovery and taper, to "see what you can do". Ugh. You are so awesome.

I think there is something to be learned here...every time you were clumsy and embarrassed, it was because you had just pushed hard and lost control for a moment. Yet each time you recovered, and you didn't hurt yourself. Maybe you have been controlling yourself a little too much, and this is you relaxing into your full awesomeness.

Haha! Good race story. And congratulations! I would have liked to been there again this year (maybe with a different song than "Push It" but we were out of town with Roger's mom for mother's day this year.

How come you put your number on for the bike? Isn't it usually not required until the run? Just wondering if (in this case) it saves time to be able to grab it and run with it.

Habit. WTC rules say you have to have your number on when you're on the bike, my brain just tends to assume that's true for every tri now.
