Hee...well, I'm not going anywhere yet. LJ can be so fun, but sometimes it's really stressful. I get to where I feel like some D-list actress, constantly trying to figure out what will get people to pay attention to me...heh. *does song and dance* *waves pics of naked boys* Plus it's so transient...people change fandoms at the drop of a hat, or disappear altogether, and suddenly all these friends you had are gone.

Autumn left last summer. She may have had a crisis of conscience with regard to writing slash. Or it may have had to do with people in RL snooping. With her job she really couldn't afford that.

Lion phoned her a number of times, but received no call backs. Then finally she posted a cryptic and sad goodbye and soon after deleted her journal. *weeps*

Yeah, I saw the cryptic and sad goodbye and was very distressed. I was just wondering if anyone had kept in touch with her off of LJ. I understand that sometimes people feel they need to go away, but it just kills me when all their fic is gone. And she was such a good writer and a sweet person...I miss her being around. I don't even have the heart to delete her crossed-off name!

I wasn't aware of what job she had...or I'm just blanking out on it. You don't need to state it here, of course. I'm bummed that Lion didn't get a call back...maybe it was something RL-related. She did seem really overwhelmed in that last message.

Thanks for your reply. *cries with you* LJ can get kind of depressing, when you build up friendships and then people just disappear or drift away. I've been on here 3 years now and I feel really nostalgic for the beginning when I jumped into the LOTR fandom and everyone was so excited and happy!

Lion was the closest to her and, to the best of my knowledge, Autumn was refusing contact, so no keeping in touch there! I miss he a lot as well.

LJ is this weird, ever-shifting group of people. I miss the LOTR crowd too, even if I was just a lurker back then...

How do you delete a crossed off name?

It's really too bad. That's the bummer thing about online stuff, too...it's not like you can just pop round their house to see what's up with them. If they decide to vanish, that's pretty much it. *is making self morose* Gah!

The shifting thing is something I hadn't really planned on when I first hooked up with LJ. I was all excited about meeting new friends and like-minded crazy people...hee...I never imagined how much things would revolve. I do have a good number of friends that I've held onto since the beginning, so I shouldn't complain too much, but it just does seem like some of the spark is gone. *sniff*

I was telling hubby that people just move so much faster than me. By the time I get into a fandom enough to write in it, everyone's already moved on! Hubby said I need a good trilogy to come up again...lol...that way I have a few years to get in the groove. :P

You can go into Manage Friends and then Edit Friends and scroll down to your flist names and delete it there. Most times I don't because I always hope they might come

Yeah, I noticed she kind of seemed to be pulling away. But I hate when people delete...not only do you miss them but all their fic is gone, and all the fun convos...*sniff*

I know at one point she shifted LJ names because of RL people finding her, so maybe she was concerned about that again. Or maybe she's just moved on to something else. It sucks, though. *cries*
