Well, we need potassium too, but I'm pretty sure potassium is one of those elements that like... falls apart on a molecular level if you so much as breathe on it when it's in its pure form...

Well, our bones are made of calcium. Bones'n'teeth. Eating stuff with a bunch of calcium in it helps make 'em stronger.
