Oi! Is anyone out there?!
[Dear passengers of the Crucible, your spheres are suddenly showing a very angry, very ginger woman sitting glaring at her sphere with her arms crossed on her bed in the Kepler Cabins, how do you react? ... On second thoughts, don't answer that question, because you won't get a chance to react for a while yet.]Is there

so excuse him if he just stares for a bit, mouth gaping like a fish as he tries to form words--but honestly has no idea where to even start.]

This is very important, Donna. I need you to answer me.

[puts on a smile and sprints through "Chicago" and back into the former maze.] Good thing we left when we did!
Now, you're going to notice quite a few things. Like how we're definitely not in Kansas any more, but thankfully there's no Wicked Witch of the West and her flying monkeys after us. We're actually on an intergalactic luxury space cruiser and that lovely outfit you're in is just a regulation spacesuit.
And...you've got a barcode on one of your hands. Sorry, but that's not going to come off any time soon.

What do I need a barcode for? That isn't like some futuristic way of buying a ticket, is it? And was that just a city I saw you sprinting through there? What's a huge city like that doing on a luxury cruise liner?

The barcode might as well be your ticket, yeah, though none of us remember buying one. It acts as your identification, door opener, are the only way to work the transportation pads--futuristic lifts, and is your source to a supposedly limitless line of credit for the shops. [he just knows her ears will perk up with that last bit.]
And yes it was a city--Chicago, in fact--well, I say Chicago, but it was more of a Faux-cago if you ask me. The time period wasn't uniform throughout and really was just a rubbish attempt at a simulation for the city.
[is now reaching the end of level 24, the chrome walls of level 23 are in sight!]
You see that Sphere in front of you? The device my hologram is talking to you in? There's a button on the side of it there that'll pull up a map of this ship if you ask it to. I need you to tell me where you are.

What sphere, you mean this thing? [she reaches up and taps it with her finger]
Reply
No, the other floaty spherical-shaped communications device next to that one.

Okay, it says... "Atlas Hall, Unit 2." What does that mean, is that my room?

[sprints through 23, soon sliding to a stop in front of the transportation pad.]

All my stuff is already here, that's a bit weird, isn't it?

[steps out on level 21, glancing around for the Atlas hall]

Ohhh, I'm not surprised.

Well don't just stand out there all day, Spaceman!
