Today in class we were discussing modern jewry. Our teacher drew a scale from one to ten on the board. On the 1 side it said Jewish American and on the ten side it said American Jew. An example of a 1 is maybe having the knowledge that you or your ancesters are jewish and not really practicing it and an example of a ten is maybe observing all ( Read more... )

i would say that i am a 7. although i am not religious, i like to do shit with jewish people. i would have to say that about 75% of my friends here at ua are jewish, which is easily the coolest thing ever. back in high school i was way involved in nfty, and now that i'm in AEPi, i get to LIVE with a shitload of jews. i still feel that i have a jewish identity, even though i don't go to services and practice judaism as much as i'd really like. before going to israel and joining AEPi, i would have considered myself a 4 or 5, looking back on it, during first semester i didn't really feel jewish...i just felt like some kid who called himself a jew. now it's different. :)

i will consider if you visit me in tucson when you get back from israel (or even in seattle when im done w/ school for that matter)
