It really sounds to me that you should start looking for other opportunities.....
No point giving more of yourself to a place that does not recognise it.
Do you have a mentor figure in your field, in or outside your organization, who can guide you?

The average colleagues of yours must be average and hence no one may like to acknowledge you as any better. If they do, they are at peril.

As soon as I start feeling this way in my job, I know it is time to move on. I am astonished by the juvenile/gossip culture in offices here, I wonder if it is cultural thing...May be it is because people's social life mostly revolves around career/job here and gossiping gives them sense of belonging?

I hope things change for you. I think you must find out what options you have within the company. If things looks as gloomy as they are, then perhaps it is time to seriously consider a change. Summer's on its way to your part of the world so I am sure that may take the "darkness" away too. I hope it does in whatever way it can in the bigger scheme of things.
