Oh, I've been forgetting to mention this, but the usual pre-release chapters of the new Dresden book are coming out on Jim Butcher's website! There are two chapters up already. :D :D :D
I'm enjoying Cat Sith as well! And yes, I agree, it does remind me of a relationship as well, but I can't place my finger on what....hmmm...
Also, I had the exact same thoughts about her description. Oh Harry :-p
I did love though Harry thinking randomly of how he was looking a bit more like Thomas. I will always be a sucker for ANY mention of his brother. OOPS ^___- And YES, I so sooo want the whole "you're not DEAD" reunion scenes like BURNING!!!!
You did this to me last time! I was successfully ignoring all the anticipation, trying not to be giddy with excitement, so that the days wouldn't drag on forever, and then lo, here you are with your tantalizing links to titbits, and I'm lost.
(Also, may I friend you? I've clearly been lurking on your journal for a while, if it's been two books.)
3 - Good point about everyone thinking Harry is dead. Maybe this will mean those Murphy & Thomas reunion scenes I really, really wanted and didn't get in the last book? :) (I can dream . . .)
4 - Also said from a place of enjoyment in the books, I totally agree with you about Harry's viewpoint. Sigh. Both with Sarissa and Mab. Also? If I never again hear an ethnic woman described as "exotic" it will be too soon, and there was the "woman of color described as strikingly beautiful with an Aryan eye color" thing...sigh...basically I'm closing my eyes and humming loudly over Sarissa's whole description.
5 - Still excited! Some friends and I are going to try to go to the signing here in LA.
... that scene aside, though, I'm all whetted for the rest of the book now! And really, really looking forward to reunion scenes, especially for Harry and Thomas, who didn't get to interact at ALL in the last book. (At least he got SOME contact with Murphy, sorta.) I am really looking forward to spending time with these characters again.
I hope you're able to make the signing; that sounds like fun!
