I LOVE NATE. If I wasn't so convinced he's like inches from death if not already there, I'd totally write fic about him making his own way in the alt!verse after Rose inevitably loses interest
( ... )
I've speculated that maybe he and Donna could...stabilise each other, somehow? THEN WE GET BOTH.
I...don't know, because - Donna's human brain couldn't handle the capacity of a Time Lord's, so he had to repress those functions, yes? But I can't see why her memories should be so tied into that. Of her time being part Time Lord, maybe, but all of it? (And one could argue that the TARDIS did much the same to Rose's mind - "that's what I see". Was it just a possession or an altered state of being?) It would help if we knew exactly what happened when she touched that hand.
I imagine they didn't want to risk them altering their respective Time streams? Which we may not consider enough of a reason, but...
I really think the Bad Wolf ordeal was a straight up possession. The only bit that seems like Rose's influence is perhaps the strength of her feelings for Jack as someone she knows getting through, but even then there wasn't any control over the action. I think for it to be anything other than that, Rose would have to have something innately mystical about her, rather than the Bad Wolf just being the TARDIS in the (any) flesh.
Maybe he could remove just the time being part Time Lord, but I can't help feeling like that'd leave a more confusing gap of "wtf happened in the middle of all that then?" than overlaying the whole thing with her normal life. *shrug*
Probably - but then one wonders what the hell "Bad Wolf" was about in Turn Left.
Yeah, but it wouldn't remove all of the character development. I think a small gap is preferable to...well, all of it. I know Donna still has all of her potential, but she grew so much. And things will be confusing anyway - where did that year go? Why is her family acting different? Where the hell did her fiance go?
I always figured it came down to them being ruthless, callous bastards, really.
Hilariously, as Fa-chan and I watched, I went, "I FIGURED OUT WHY I LIKE DONNA!DOCTOR. He's Ten but happy." I still want them to all have adventures. I seriously just loved how everyone was piloting and Donna!Doctor and Doctor!Donna just stood off to the side, laughing together. And just...them in general
( ... )
I felt that way back before we knew he was good, too! Just so twitchy and completely mental. Bless.
Jackie did get to fly the TARDIS eventually, I think. Everyone got a turn!
I love Rose's reaction to Martha in this one. Made me happy all over. People with perspective FTW. And now you reminded me that Harriet Jones is still dead. I always liked her, and I love that at the end, even the Daleks know who she is.

It was kind of hard to parse with all the moving? I think I should watch that scene again. And go "awwwww".
Yes! That was one bit that made me very happy with her. I want her to find Zeppelin!Martha so they can be BEST FRIENDS FOREVER.
Well, hey, we didn't see her get exterminated. > >
