I only woke up a little while ago, and it's calm right now. I peeked out the door, and there doesn't seem to be any significant damage on my street. We haven't suffered anything but leaks and a damp basement.

But I'm pretty sure this is the eye of the storm?

And the thing is. They called my dad in to work. He's a custodian for the school district

I'm so glad everything took a turn for the safe and sound. Mother Nature is one of the scariest bitches to wrangle real life around, because there's nothing you can do.

Thanks. It was really - just. We don't get natural disasters, usually.

And then we lost power, but that we're used to, it was just annoying. (The prospect of losing it for days, on another hand - but thankfully it just came back on.)
