To delay dealing for one more day. To suppress, oppress, repress the imagery, memories and nagging persistent thoughts that lurk and loom. To find that oblivion where digits are numb, speech is slurred and breathing is slowed to a shallow lilt; but not so stop completely...so that in desperation it can be relived again tomorrow.
