I am teaching myself Japanese right now using a lovely website called JapanesePod101. But all that I have learned so far would be a little redundant to you because it isn't the first time we have met and you already know that I am from Canada. So. Plus I am going by phonetics and I would spell everything wrong. Yoroshiku onegaishimas!
That's how I'm learning Chinese - through a chinese101 podcast. I actually downloaded the JapanesePod101s just for fun. It was pretty interesting and helpful. I got to review all those useful phrases and everything. The way I study for my final is by watching all the Japanese movies and anime I can get my hands on. I've learned it's really helpful to learn casual speak and all the naughty words I can't say to my professor.
