Firstly, chapter two of the NuTrek horse racing AU. There should be a total of four chapters - first chapter dealing with the horse before he became famous, second chapter is set in the Golden Gate Fields Derby preps, third chapter set in the Santa Anita Park Derby preps, and the last chapter set in Churchill Downs. First of all, I agree with you 100% on the TV thing. I need to have hope, I need to know that not everyone's going to die and be crushed under the feet of destiny. Which is odd, when you think that I'm a diehard Battlestar Galactica fan, but I would argue that there is hope in there, lots of hope. A warning too, maybe, but hope too.

Also, re: NuTrek racing AU: how the fuck do you manage to turn Kirk into a horse so precisely? I mean, damn, I swear I've ridden that horse. Like someone injected pure sugar into his bloodstream and pure rebellion into his head. I eagerly await the next chapter.

It's funny how so many people I know in the Tron fandom focus on character studies and development and what happens within canon and in between scenes/events/years. I keep scratching my head and wondering why they're not intrigued by the "what-if" stories, the "what happens after".

Turning Jim Kirk into a racehorse was ridiculously easy for me. Pine!Kirk is like this great sun-gold blue-eyed ball of rebellion and daring and kinetic energy. You just need to look at him to know he's always thinking of the next dumbass thing to do; you know his brain never stops and his body never stops and you just can't contain him. From there it's easy to build up a racehorse with impossible amounts of energy that he needs to burn off if anyone ever hopes to make him manageable and an impossible temperament that Jim-the-human finds endearing and the others find irritating, xD

... wow did I wax on at length about Pine!Kirk, whoops =X
