oh hey it's New Year's Day!
Firstly, chapter two of the NuTrek horse racing AU. There should be a total of four chapters - first chapter dealing with the horse before he became famous, second chapter is set in the Golden Gate Fields Derby preps, third chapter set in the Santa Anita Park Derby preps, and the last chapter set in Churchill Downs. Awesome.
Secondly, let me usher in the New Year by saying I woke to "I Dreamed A Dream" belting in my head and memories of a mishmash dream of Tron, NuTrek, and horses. Now it's "Call Me Maybe" and "Gangnam Style". Fuck you, brain.
Thirdly, let me continue ushering in the New Year by talking at length about TRON: Uprising and the lengths I go to not watch it.

Here is me being cheerfully reminded of why, despite the wealth of new canon and characters, I won't be watching this TV show EVER. Because I am not interested in a show where we already know everyone is doomed and it's just a matter of time. I am not interested in watching a character I've latched onto slowly break down. I am not interested in watching a show where the Bad Guys win and reigns for a thousand years before the events of Legacy.
But mostly, I'm not interested in watching in excruciating detail Tron becoming Rinzler, from protecting the system to become Clu's weapon. I don't like thinking about it. I hate it. The depths of my hatred are bottomless. It gives me panic attacks and tons of anxiety. I don't... like it when a character loses its agency, don't like it when a character's will is broken, don't like it when a character is brainwashed or rewritten or reprogrammed or Stockholm Syndrome'd in all the worst ways. It's fascinating but not like this. For me it's a form of torture porn and I'm just not interested.
I can withstand a lot of things if there's hope and promise of healing and a better tomorrow. I don't see it with this show.
... and now debuting my 2013 tag, :D Here's to a year of better things and a ton of sc-fi movies.
