Weirdly, I've always felt like it's safer to be female than male in large parts of the internet, especially in fandom areas.

I think most people assume that people in fandom are of the female persuasion. For me it's not so much a safety issue as it is my... discontent at being labeled a woman/girl/female. Like, I try real damn hard to not give away some kind of gender in my profiles. It just makes me uncomfortable.

Wait, who was harassing you on tumblr? I've been on-again/off-again on tumblr, so it's possible that I completely missed it, but I don't want that to sound like an excuse. I saw a couple of posts about a month or so ago where people were saying racist things about Elementary/Lucy Liu (for which you beautifully gave them hell), but they weren't continued (that I saw). What happened?

Not Tumblr. On Plurk. I got into a bit of a row with a friend of someone in the Tron circles about white privilege and my patent inability to sympathize with white people whining about called a "racist white bitch".

It wasn't a private plurk, either, so everyone would've seen it.
