rrrrr okay, you know what? I am so sick of that "it encourages people to put out crap" argument. Everyone who says that misses two honking points: if it's really crap, it won't get published. If it's saleable crap, it will get people to read. I mean, yes, I have serious problems with both Meyer's and Paolini's books (and some personal problems with Paolini) but they both have the right to publish any book anyone will buy. And people buy their books. People who wouldn't otherwise read read their books. This is not a bad thing in my world.

besides writing does not always have to be ~art~ sometimes I just want to write porn okay. Or self-indulgent sappy reunion scenes. Or [insert your favorite non-arty part of writing here].
