I feel a bit bad for being that silent in the last months. There are people out there I care for and some might get the impression that I don't care anymore ( Read more... )

I'm not a creature of many words.
Just know I find you wise, intelligent and kind, and I agree wholeheartedly when it comes to helping - I might not always show it, but as a whole, I place those I care for before myself.

If I was a LotR geek (or if I was Irish) I would say "All that is Given, is not Lost."

As for humanity as a whole, I take the analytical approach to that - we're bad for the planet, and all the other lifeforms on it.
I can see it. I understand. And can see the point of vhemt.org.
I am ashamed of my own species.
People who Hate their own race for STUPID reasons however, only deserve being laughed at.
Hate is reserved for people like my biological father.

Oh look. Many words. Imagine that!

I am furry. And I am human.
I cannot say I understand how one can seperate one from the other and harbor hate for the people that are their mothers and fathers, or sisters and brothers.

And I too am said to care too much. I have no idea why. I think the people saying it don't care enough!

Hmm. I mostly agree, but not on all points (as can be expected since we're different people after all XP). I'm not sure if you mean this, but giving without expecting anything in return is so very rare, almost impossible. It does not have to be material goods, it can be simply psychological (you can give a dollar to a homeless person, but you get the satisfaction of confirming yourself as a good person in return - so you still don't do it without getting something in return). The norm of reciprocity, it's just an adaptive thing that humans need to survive, I don't think it's wise to try to fight it. This is the reason we sometimes refuse favors from people, not because it wouldnt be nice to get something, but because we do not want to feel like we owe them a favor back as well. Accepting help unconsciously puts us into debt ( ... )
