It's the middle of the night here and I can't sleep so I thought I'd comment. Like most people, their mothers have probably taught them that "if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all." Since my Mom has long since passed, I'm going to tell you possibly why nobody has commented

Wow! Where do I begin. I gave myself some time to cool off. My emotions have been running between extremely hurt and extremely pissed off. Who Do You Think You Are to tell me I ripped someone off? You don't know me. You have no right to make any assumptions or accusations toward me. I will come back to this particular subject later

If you say so. I already apologized for being harsh. But you DID ask if anyone was reading. Honestly, if you'd posted this way back in the day, when it was written, you probably would have carried on getting your positive responses etc. Now its 10-12 years later and nobody cares about Hugh/Jen much anymore. Which is probably why nobody is commenting/reading. A lot of people have left the fandom and have moved on. When an author doesn't publish for a long time, people forget and don't go back.

I was just confused by the part where you said "edited" in quotes about your beta. What's with the quotes? Was she not good? Or are you just mad because she couldn't finish? There are a lot of good Beta's out there who do JUST that. If she wasn't an official one to begin with, maybe she just didn't take it all that seriously like a regular beta would have. Just a thought.

I just read it (and am currently re-reading Pennmill's story) and I have to agree with oxford_bred. I've tried to write Hugh/Jen RPFs but gave up because I just felt I could never find their authentic "voices." All I know about them is what they say in interviews. Most actors are on their best behavior then. Also, I doubt Jesse Spencer would ever act like that. From what I've read/seen interviews about him, he is very kind, professional and respectful. I also doubt Jen would sleep with Hugh. It's why I quit writing RPFs about them. Jen seems to have a very strong moral compass and wouldn't break up a family. However, I don't know any of them so...

You could easily change this to a House/Cameron story, though. I could see Chase belting House since he did it on the show. I could also see Cameron and House being unable to keep their hands off each other.

Hughville, First I'd like to say that I love you as an author. You're one of my favorites. But I am absolutely crushed that you are jumping on the boat in thinking I ripped off Anything For The Show! First of all I would ask you to read the comment that I replied to the first person who accused me of ripping off that story because I laid out everything in detail to her. However, I will explain a few things again to you. Most importantly, I posted my story on August 18th 2007. She posted her story on July 20th 2008. That's almost an entire year later! Now how could I have ripped off her story, when it hadn't even been published for a whole year? Sure there are going to be similarities. You have to have Hugh divorce his wife, and you have to have Jen break it off with Jesse. Spoiler alert for anything for the show here ...so don't read on if you don't want spoilers!! If my story was so similar, did I make Jo a lesbian? Did I have Jo black mailing Hugh? Were The Kids visiting all the time and an integral part of the story? Did they all

Thank you for your kind comments about my writing. Personally, I think I suck and it often takes me a couple years to finish one fic. I'm working on one I started over a year ago. I go back and read and re-read then change things, especially as I read other people's fics. I want to my fic to be as authentic to me and my ideas as possible.

I understand what you're saying and I get wanting the fantasy. However, Hugh doesn't always have to get divorced. Jen doesn't always have to break it off with Jesse. Sometimes not having them do that or letting things end organically is more satisfying. To me, at least. pyewacket_1975 always teases me because I want to make our fics "too real."

I'm sorry you were hurt but I meant my comment to be more in the form of constructive criticism. Go to hughvillefics and there you will find a lot of Hugh/Jen real person fic and none are much alike. I said I agreed with oxford_bred and I stand by that. You may have written your fic first but they are very similar. Your sex scenes are very graphic. Maybe an NC-17 rating and
