The only thing I feel compelled to add is the bit in volume 5(?) with Ame-Warashi, where Watanuki needs Doumeki to rescue the dead kid from the hydrangea (or the hydrangea from the dead kid, depending on your perspective) and they have to get something of Himawari's (her hair ribbon) to connect them. This, to me, shows how inextricably linked the three of them are.

Yeah, I was going to add that in but the manifesto was already getting long, so I ended up having to cut it. But that is a very good point.

I really loved the "Why it Works" section because I think you really nailed it on why the pairing is so great. It really is impossible to only ship two of the three characters.
