Had a Catholic education. If that's what it's like for public education, then I have no frame of reference. Even still, I think it's crass marketing; I'm about surprised they just didn't slap a Hannah Montana sticker on the thing, though then again, there's that "license = money we don't get" issue....
Brings back the memories of back in high school, wow random memory.
My sis was in the high school pageant and during the lull when the judges were tallying up points they proceeded to ask each of the contestants how they felt. They were all the generic nervous, nervous, nervous.
They get to my sister and she goes... 'I feel pink'. wha? though it was odd it worked, made her stand out even more than the others. She proceeded to win the pageant in any case.
Having an insider's look at the way they market things to kids, this is right on the mark. It's completely wrong, but it'll sell. Unfortunately. Pretty sure they focus grouped it to death too.
