Hey Rob, all of this I've learned from my entertainment law class, though we focused heavily in the music industry (mainly cuz the teacher was a hardcore rock roadie back in the day moving up to manager, and then going to law school). It was interesting stuff.

Well, a lot of it I did know, but an equal amount I didn't. I'm finding that while my writing skills are getting me places, this is also a business, and I do have to know something about business, I can't just pass this off on someone else and hope for the best.

Fortunately, I'm learning the hard way about how things are done, because if I don't now, I may not have that luxury later.

That's very true. At least you're researching the situation. So what else is new? Dang, the weather lately really stinks, too much rain and humidity.

Thanks for the info as usual, I've been learning about this stuff more in my toy design class too - the teacher's done a lot of shopping around with her children's book and there's a lot of crap involved in the contracting and such that isn't easily found as available information, apparently.

I'm finding more about it than I expected. If you'd like, I can share some of it with you offline (as talking online would require a lot more time and typing than my poor fingers can handle. ^_-)
