This past month has been a bit bumpy, as have the prior couple of months due to a persistent ear infection that would not clear up until the doctors resorted to sulfa drugs. We are now two months into Keira's second year on this planet, and she's doing quite well (random illnesses notwithstanding). She's walking like a champ, has added four molars to her set of teeth, is feeding herself relatively well with a spoon, and is adding new words to her vocabulary everyday. Ear infection aside, Keira is just bopping right along through her milestones. ( All About Keira )

Today will be my first day at work with no pumping. It was weird to get up this morning and not have to remember to grab the pump and Keira's bottles for the day. It was just Keira's blanket for the daycare and my lunch. That's it. Weird and wonderful, that's what I'm calling it.

Mike and I were both sick all weekend, so there were a lot of things we didn't get to do this year. There was no attendance at a haunted house (wanted to see Sinister Pointe and maybe one or two other independent mazes), no party on Saturday night, I never finished Mike's costume, and we tried to find pumpkins to carve way too late in the game. A year ago today, I was tethered to a bed in the hospital, and Mike and I were getting to know our new baby girl. My memories of that day are now a little fuzzy around the edges (I blame the drugs), but I do remember that we were utterly enchanted with her.
