Break kneecaps? Baldur smiled, shaking her head. “I’ll see what I can do,” she said with good humor in her voice.

As far as Jack’s rather obvious scheming, she did not want to know - nor did she care. Jack was up to something; that much was so blatantly obvious that it was practically written on a flashing neon sign hanging around his neck. “I think I can handle an evening without Luca.” More appropriately, as long as they did not end up dead, she was more than happy to let Jack take Luca away. Hell, she was tempted to declare undying love for him, circumstances considered.

“Get in touch with me if you have any luck.” Perhaps she was being too hopeful to think the two of them were going to get any actual work done. She would just have to trust in her seniors at the office.

Giving a small wave, she left them to their own devices.

Luca had been more than a just a little happy to get out of that meeting. He was sure to slap Zhi's shoulder and mutter a 'good luck' to him while glancing to Asher on the way out. Although really, it was Asher he pitied. The kid had no idea what he was in for.

The former member of SOLDIER would never go so far as to say he was afraid of Zhi. He'd seen too much...been dealt too much. It was hard to scare him. But it was....troublesome to get on Zhi's bad side. Not in the way that it was troublesome to get on Luca's bad side, really. Luca was formidable of course, but Zhi had a way of taking that stick out of his ass temporarily and beating you with it if you got too out of hand ( ... )

Jack followed the other Turk to the vending machine, one eyebrow raised incredulously. "You really think I want you to come with me for protection?" Slouched against the machine with a lazy smile. "For serious?"

"First off, nah, I don't know what Drake's on - neither of us really need it. I don't really think they're gonna' try and come in topside, and 'sides, Baldur's smart enough to get backup, y'know? And there's prob'ly no way we're finding 'em tonight anyway." He shrugged. "And me, well shit, man I was born down there. Have to save your ass, more likely."

Well, Jack didn't really think anyone would try to fuck with any Turk, let alone one with those eyes, but it was hard to say what anyone would do when they needed something real bad. "Thing is, I go down there by myself, no one says anything, y'know? I do it all the time. But if I need your help taking 'em down, and you come with me, people are gonna' talk. They're gonna' have one hell of a head's up.

"Unless they think we're not working. So you and are going to head down ( ... )

Well, Luca didn't know why he was at all surprised. Maybe because he was just so damn used to working with the hard asses, that normally even the mention of the word 'fun' while on the job was now foreign to him. And really, this strategy just sounded like another excuse to have fun. Luca visited the slums all the time for recreation...just not with Jack ( ... )

The promise of sweet girls did give Luca a little more faith in Jack's intentions. He'd been starting to worry. And in the back of his mind, he didn't want to admit to what he had been worrying about exactly ( ... )

"Sorry about the wait." Jack tapped Luca on the shoulder as he slid into the seat beside him. Two drinks, both of them Luca's - Jack didn't drink himself, alcohol tasted like shit and wasn't worth what you got out of it, as well as... other reasons - because it was a decent bet that someone Luca's size needed a fair amount just to get started.

Looked like he was more interested in something else, though. Jack caught the other man's line of vision and followed it up through the crowd, grinning automatically at the sight of those thighs and that flat, hard stomach. Luck was on Jack's side tonight - everything was just about ready. From here on in the game could begin. "You like? Shouldn't be too hard for you, I think - I hear he likes Shinra's boys, 'specially blond ones."

Luca was a bit grateful to see Jack again, and he accepted the drinks heartily. The first one was gone in seconds, and he was just about to start on the second when Jack opened his mouth and blabbed out something that Luca could have gone without hearing and lived happily for the rest of his life.

"NO, I don't like." ...Nooow he remembered. That was what's-his-whore! Luca had guessed right...how 'bout that.

"You two sound like you're made for each other, really. I wouldn't want to steal him." Sarcasm was very much dripping from his voice at this point, and he took a hard drink before slamming the glass down.

"The other one up there, though...the girl... She's nice. Do you know her?"

Jack allowed himself a private smile as the other Turk drained his glass, eyes following the curve of Luca's muscled neck down into the collar of his shirt. Things were going according to plan so far, and if he pulled it off, he'd be in for one damned pleasant evening ( ... )

Midgar was simply not geared toward the blind. Discovering where the Turk lived took very little effort, but actually getting to that place was something else entirely. Something in his gut twisted very hard - his old friend did not know of his plight. He had only begun to strongly show the side effects of mako when he last saw Luca; and Luca did not know that it made Hoth sick ( ... )

When ten minutes had passed without the other man so much as shifting from where he'd dropped onto the couch, Rhys had begun to get restless again. He'd tapped his nails against the larger man's skull, idly and sighed when there wasn't even a hint of a response; worry subsiding into boredom with the seconds ticking away on the heavy clock that hung by the window ( ... )

Hoth licked his lips. He had not really thought ahead to the fact that he might have to deal with another person if he called Luca… the same could have happened showing up at his home. Luca was an attractive man - and if things had not changed, a promiscuous one as well… though, unless things really had changed quite a bit since Hoth last saw his friend, sleeping with men was not a frequent habit of Luca’s ( ... )

"Wake him up?" Rhys glanced down at the prone form of the other Turk - Whitney according to the voice on the other end of the phone - and considered it for a moment. Clearly the guy really wanted to get in touch with the blond, but Rhys wasn't sure waking him was going to be the best thing for him right now. Nothing saying that this guy wasn't some kinda old boyfriend and if he did bother to rouse the unconscious man there wouldn't just be some sort of drama and the phone would get hung up anyway.

He hummed over his decision for a second before responding, "Well, I'm not sure that's a great idea. He's really beat up- see? He had a bit of a run-in with some boost kids at the club earlier tonight and he's sleeping it off." He paused a moment, an idea hitting him that seemed a bit better since it would give Mr. Whitney some time to wake up on his own.

"You can come up here though. Want the address?"
