This fic has me feeling so empty. Like it started off so light hearted and by the end it just sucker punches you in the stomach and wow.
Like this fic is so important and you handled a topic that a lot of people dont talk about and handled it in such a real way. And the ending oh my god the ending.
this fic is seriously so perfect and the characters are all so amazingly funny and easy to relate to.
“And I care about you,” Jinki reached for her hands across the table, holding them tighter when he felt her trying to pull away. “But I can’t save you.”
[...]
He ached for the pain that was going to befall her, envied the person in her future who would teach her to love herself, wished he could wear that person’s skin and drink in the words they’d say to make her finally see herself the way the world saw her - the way he saw her.
this was the point at which i started crying and like how dare you make me sit here and cry
congratulations on writing a seriously amazing story
i'm grateful that you think i handled this topic well. i wanted to create a very human character that readers could empathize with, and these comments make me feel as though i've accomplished that so thank you so much! i'm glad you enjoyed it.
holy shit. this fic was so, so amazing. i really love your writing. everything is so witty and so real, unabashed. your characters were so well-developed. i just cannot express to you how much i loved your key. so wonderful. the dynamic between key and jinki was honestly everything, so well-balanced and just. gah. everything that i love about the onkey ship in general, this fic was. you portrayed them perfectly. jongho's side story too was just so nice and i love the friendship you built up between jonghyun and jinki. i'll probably never shut up about how much i love your character development and your characters but yes. yes. this is already one of my absolute favorite onkey fics and i'm going to re-read it right now because i love every word. thank you for writing and sharing this!
thank you! i enjoy writing character-driven stories so i'm thrilled that this was appreciated in that aspect. i am flattered that you've added this to your favorite onkey fics and congrats on winning, btw!
I am so glad I know how to read, that I have eyes, that I stan SHINee, that we have people in fandom who organize these events and that you exist. Thank you for sharing your talent, your beautiful writing.
At some point I stopped caring that it's a SHINee fanfiction (although these days that's all I ever read), it's good enough to be read on its own, that's how invested I was in the story and the characters. How the fuck are you so good at making me laugh and cry? Just. I love this and I love you.
(I wish I were more articulate, I'm sorry, but this has made me speechless, congratulations.)
one of my favorite things is when people say that they've forgotten that my characters are physically borrowed from SHINee ;____; thank you. i have nothing against fanfiction, obviously. i love it and respect it as a craft on its own, but i think creating original characters is a whole other ball game so thank you for your kind words.
this was so intense and real, i started to read it and couldn't stop. the whole fic has this kind of melancholic overtone? i don't know how to describe it in english, but it got me hooked. i really like the style you chose, even without saying it was inspired by the movie or the trailer it reads like a movie. the scenes cutting and the focus on a specific thing seem like a camera focusing and zooming in on it. you portrayed the characters so well, even jonghyun and minho. they're not just some silly side story or a prop to make progress, to help the main protagonist character development, they're people with their own story, own life normally i'm not someone who enjoys stories so much without a happy ending and i try to avoid them, but this leaves a deep impression and i think i will read it some more times in the future.
sorry, i hope i didn't ramble too much... just let me say thank you for this good fic
thank you so much for reading and commenting! i actually wanted to set a balance between humor and ALL OTHER EMOTIONS lol so i see what you're trying to say. and i love the jongho in this too, obviously. i'm glad you appreciated them as well.
Wow. There are not words. You took on a tough subject. A divisive subject, and you humanized people in a business who are constantly dehumanized. Well done.
