(also it will never not be funny to me that Kenneth Branagh directed this movie)

So I am watching Thor now, in the hopes of being slightly less pathetically unqualified to talk/write about Avengers. And also for Darcy cause frankly she seems pretty bomb.

But mostly I am distracted by all of the Dutch angles, oh no, everything is all ~*~topsy-turvy~*~, woaaaaaah.

ETA: Also is it just me or do Chris Hemsworth's eyebrows have ( Read more... )

blah blah life, anime, another!, sororities are srs bsns, movies, avengers, airports are the enemy

I dunno, "ANOTHER!" made me really love Thor. Like, just those three seconds of the film did more than the entirety of Avengers and the preceeding 45 minutes of this movie.

But yeah, when does Darcy get her own movie?

Thor is alright.

But Darcy is better.

Ughhhh we couldn't have gone a couple shades darker? Like how in Legally Blonde they tested several dozen shades of blonde?

I think the lighting might also have something to do with it, at least in terms of it being slightly-less-awful in some scenes than in others.

Hey, I am not the makeup department!

Plus, you'll see how that shit did not happen in The Avengers, so apparently someone finally did notice.

I think you would get sued by the movie people.

I'm not really sure, philosophically speaking, if there is a "wrong" way of watching a movie, but I'm pretty sure I'm watching this wrong.

Disagree. You are watching it correctly. In fact, it hurts me a little that we will probably never meet and watch movies together because this write-up is a thing of joy and wonder. If I went through and highlighted every line that made me giggle, I would just be reposting your entire, uh, post.

I am one of those stupid Loki fangirls--Hiddles is such a good actor, and I feel bad for the poor guy and want to give him a hug. And a cheeseburger because DAMN, dude is skinny. (Keep in mind, I also have a long-standing crush on Anthony Hopkins's Hannibal Lecter so there is obviously something very wrong with me.)

Yeah, the tesseract is dumb but my name is Tessa so it makes me happy. Plus it makes me think of A Wrinkle in Time which also makes me happy. I'M EASILY PLEASED, OKAY ( ... )

My doubts about the validity of my watching style was mostly because it took me over three hours to watch a 110-minute movie (though I also stopped it briefly to deal with roommate stuff and get snacks and stuff). Blogging is work! But it was super fun. Also, um, I've been told I'm really obnoxious to watch movies with in person, at least in theater, so maybe the live-blog is the best way to experience a movie with me. And I think I want to have another go at doing it sometime :D ( ... )

Heh, my brother-in-law does NOT like watching movies with me and my sister. We, uh, are somewhat distracting from the entire movie-watching experience. But I would be delighted to read more live-blogging from you! :)

Yeah, the shitty writing is pretty depressing and requires a lot of mental gymnastics to try to explain in my own head-canon, which does not make sense and will not be shared. :P And yes, he's a mass murderer, not really a great quality in a man. But . . . but . . .

I think Thor also made me like him better because I have opinions about long hair on men and so thought he looked better in Thor. But even in Avengers - just, like, "I am not overly fond of what follows," or "I think I'll have that drink now" - he definitely has some charm. Which was another thing that bugged me in Thor - he's set up early on as having a silver tongue and it is portrayed really well in the scene where he sneakily convinces Thor to go to the Frost Giant planet - but every time after that he's a total fail at lying/manipulating/etc even though that's supposed to be his thing. *sigh* So actually what I need is some good Loki fic because Lord knows there are times when the fans just do it better.

Ugh, Fury fail! And it was probably one of those scented bubble-baths he's always taking, so I'm sure the books smells like lilac now.
