What's up with "All Will Be In Order"

So, I have this genfic Harry Potter WIP about Remus Lupin, Sirius Black, and Molly Weasley... Heh. It's only six chapters, but the first one was posted in May 2007 (!!) and the last one isn't quite done yet. I'll be looking forward to the reedits and the ending! Always really enjoyed seeing the Sirius and Remus dynamic being explored with out the slash aspect!

That kind of problem is why I gave up posting WIPs. I always find that once I have a first draft I can see where the weak points are in the arcs and the plots, and have to go back and put lots of stuff in to make it all hold together. Also, your 2007 start is making me feel better about some of my WIPs, which are old enough to go to school on their own by now ;-).

I'd always intended what I was posting to be a first draft -- only, I thought I would finish it in a year or two (ha!) and then revise it for submission to PhoenixSong. (I've now rethought the submission plan, since I'm not so active on that site anymore.) But I thought it would be more fun to post as I went and collect feedback. I just didn't think the first-draft-ness of this would actually block me from finishing the story as it has, rrgh.

This is actually the only chapter fic I have ever written (aside from maybe a couple of two-parters). I just work much better with one-shots, given my time constraints and attention span. (That strategy seems to be working, as I recently did a summed word count on my main HP project, a series of related one-shots, and it's at 86,000...) I knew I was taking risks posting "Order" as a WIP, but I did want to see how it would go -- and the interim feedback has definitely been encouraging and helpful.

Some of my (one-shot) WIPs date from fall of 2006!

Oh I'm glad you have found a way to continue. ♥ I didn't consider the issue you mention here, but I can see how it might stop you from writing a satisfying ending. I'm also really impressed with your willingness to go back and rewrite things to make them better. I have trouble looking over older things. :)

LOL -- honestly, most of the chapters just need a little tweaking, or an extra line thrown in there somewhere. So it's not too bad. And it's worth it to feel better about the project as a whole. ;)

These few additional sentences add really well to the feel of your fic. It gives just that little extra peek in Remus's mind we all want :D

In the original version, Remus and Sirius came to an understanding about their friendship much too early. ;) I needed to make some changes to stretch things out a little.

I'm working on the final chapter as my main writing project these days and definitely hope to be able to post it soon.
