.
All Will Be in OrderWhen Remus Lupin moves in at number twelve, Grimmauld Place, he must come to terms with Sirius Black and a friendship too long submerged by mistrust, loss, and Azkaban. He must learn to work with Molly Weasley, who seems to be nearly as frightened of werewolves as she is of Voldemort. Clearly, adjustments will have to be ( Read more... )

OMG, I love the idea that Remus goes on a protein binge the day before the full moon. And I love even more that he hides out in the pantry to eat a cheese sandwich! :D Aw Remus.

And in typical Remus style he is unprepared for the fact that Sirius is trying to look out for him, that he wants to keep Remus safe. Though, of course, Sirius is having his own share of misunderstandings about the whole thing. I really hope they do manage to reach a point where they can be more secure in their friendship, before, you know... :(

And Molly is getting a very thourough 101 on the realities of being a werewolf isn't she? Not just the gory details, but all the behind the scenes stuff. I love how observant she is, even through her prejudices.

So happy this is your pulped goal! :D

Yeah, protein cravings on a low budget...I imagine Remus eats a lot of beans on toast, too!

Sirius and Remus still have another chapter to go, so don't give up hope yet. ;)

I'm so glad you like Molly being observant. I'm having so much fun writing her here.

As always, thanks very much for your comments, and for being so encouraging!

I'm so excited to see this updated! I can't remember if I've actually left a review yet for this (and if I haven't, I'm terribly sorry - I tend to bookmark things in a review-later folder that I never seem to get to) but anyway, I reread it from the beginning and I'm very much in awe of how smoothly you integrate this with canon. You write all the characters beautifully, from Remus and Sirius's fractured but mending relationship to Molly's fears and prejudices which she has obviously overcome quite a bit by the time we see her in OotP.

I'm looking forward to seeing the next chapter!

Ohhh finally! Another wonderful chapter.
You really have a knack for writing these characters.

Thanks so much! And thanks for continuing to follow this, even though the updates have been slow. :)

Thanks so much for your comments! I'm glad you feel that this story fits in with canon, and that the characters are working. And I'm honored to know that you actually thought it was worth rereading from the beginning... The next chapter really won't take months this time, honest. ;)

I've read this twice now, and each time I've been struck by how quiet everything and everyone is. Grimmauld seems so hushed and silent, despite references to the cleaning and the children going on elsewhere, and it very effectively narrows the world down to Remus, a man undergoing a horrible transformation, and how the other two react to it ( ... )

I always appreciate your comments so much, because you find things in my stories I didn't even know were there (but which maybe need to be considered more purposefully in a revised version?!). Like the theme of quiet, here...

I'm glad you liked Molly and the dressing gown. :) That hallway/tea/bedroom sequence was actually one of the first scenes I wrote for the entire story (yes, in 2007, lol), and it has changed surprisingly little since then.

Thanks so much for taking the time to read and comment when you're surely busy with Figure Skating!

Actually - not for the first time ;) - I owe you thanks. For various reasons, including Figure Skating, this week has become one with not nearly enough hours in the day, but I've been wracking my brain for a useful birthday present Mr Gilpin's mother can give him next week...

...He's getting a new dressing gown.:D I always say reading is time well spent!

LOL! Always glad to be of service.

I've been planning for (*sigh*) years now to write some late-HBP or early-DH fic where Tonks gives Remus a warm fuzzy new dressing gown to replace this one -- haven't worked it into anything yet, but it may still appear sometime. ;)

What a treat! Perhaps this sounds sad, too, but getting the chance to focus on this piece of your fic is the best thing that happened to me today. And what I’ve read will stay with me, particularly the final hallway and bedroom scenes - so I’m really happy that they stayed with you ever since you started the story ( ... )

Good heavens, I'm sorry -- I thought I had already responded to your comments. I guess my busy work schedule had me even more confused last term than I thought...

I always really appreciate your thoughtful, detailed feedback. I'm glad you saw the urgency in that opening scene, and you picked up exactly what I meant about Sirius (Perhaps that exactly shows how worried he is about Remus.). I see him as spoiled and petulant -- largely because he never had a chance to grow up, which wasn't his fault -- but he can (usually) pull himself out of his own frustration when someone he cares about actually needs him ( ... )

Waited a bit to read this so I'd have time to properly enjoy it, and re read chapter 4 as well. This made me ache for both Remus and Sirius. They are both so isolated in their own little worlds, that they are not even sure how to relate to each other or other people anymore. Remus is worried about Sirius. Sirius is worried about Remus, and both of them are afraid of alienating the other.
Love Molly's slowing dawning understanding of who Remus really is. She seems to be watching him through the eyes of the other people in the household.
Am anxiously awaiting the next chapter! (and that warm fuzzy robe story too!)

I'm so sorry this response is so late! I seem to have misfiled some e-mail notifications last semester when everything at work was so busy.

I really appreciate your comments here, especially because you've really nailed the way I'm trying to write these characters -- Remus and Sirius unsure of how to relate to each other, Molly unconsciously picking up how the others are reacting to Remus -- and it's very reassuring to see that the ideas I'm trying to write are coming through.

Thanks again for reading. (I'm back to working on Chapter 6 again...)
