... as told by a Singaporean 470 sailor.
{Take the 100 Things challenge!}
Here's how this is going to work. The challenge is to post 100 things about a subject, which is this case is sailing. I'm going to split it up into 10 subsections because sailing is such a wide topic. These will range from basic stuff to more intricate and experience-based things, but all will involve a lot of my commentary. Maybe you'll agree or disagree with my subjective opinions; maybe you'll be completely lost. Either way, comment away! Beacuse the point of this challenge as I understand it is generate discussion.
My 10 subsections are going to be:
+ 10 sailing essentials
+ 10 types of boats (that I've personally sailed)
+ 10 things you should know if you want to take part in a sailing race
+ 10 things you should be prepared for on a sailing road trip
+ 10 things you wouldn't immediately associate with sailing 10 things I learned from sailors
+ 10 things that kinda suck about sailing
+ 10 cool things to try while sailing
+ 10 most interesting places I've been to sail
+ My 10 least favourite places to sail
+ And another 10 more places, for good measure
I may not do everything in order (I don't want to lock myself in, especially if I get stuck on a section, or if something really cool happens and it fits in another section so it makes more sense to blog about it then ... you get the drift). I will come back and update this post with what I have posted, though, so it can act as sort of an index.
At first I was going to leave them unlocked, but I'm always forgetting to change the f-o default, plus I'm bad at only doing one thing in one post, and most things all wind up with personal stories anyway ... so keeping the f-lock it is, and if anyone reading this wants in, I am happy to add you because anyone who wants to read about and talk sailing with me is automatically awesome in my eyes. Just, you know, comment here or something so I don't miss the notification. :)
So. If you're here from
jdbracknell's challenge post, hello! A bit about me: my name is Dawn, I'm a twenty-something Singaporean and I've been sailing for 15 years.
