1. It's my mum's birthday today, so a happy birthday to her (may she never see this), because she is wonderful and I adore her and she is a fantastic, awesome, brilliant mother. <3

Subliminal John and Rodney is great. We've got two stuffed penguins at work, which I immediately named John and Rodney, because how could I not? Now I just find it hilarious that my boss decides to tell everyone that they're called John and Rodney. Rodney's the slightly more stuffed one.

Awesome! My work password was 4004 from Good Omens for a while because how could I possibly think of any other 4 digit numerical code?

The funniest thing about it is that my boss is completely oblivious even though I went to great pains explaining how they could not be separated. Mind you, I had to point out that one of the songs on the CD we were playing went Ganymede! Ganymede! So, so oblivious.

Sounds great :) I look forward to an excuse to escape retail hell. (I should be allowed a sign on the door: Only |1| death since last stupid question.)

...ohhhhee. Some people, eh? And, well, I guess a lot of people miss some aspects of mythology? *grin* *is distracted by vague notions of Ancient Greek AU where Rodney gets right het up over guest-friendship and the genii betraying them after breaking bread with them. Mmm.*

Fantabulous. And, oh, man, yeah, I can empathise. (I would support such an endeavour!)

3. i suspect i know what this may be! woo! (if it is a thing that will also make c. squeak with joy. if not - um. i'm ignorant? and if it is, again, i have a tiny ssnippet of it myself but it's not very good. may post anyway, Just Because.)

p.s. i am now ignoring my ACTUAL "projects" (to give faffing about in writely when i should be engaged in russian homework or similar a grandiose title) in favour of that thing we talked about. with the chair? and the tying?

3. Yes, I suspect it is what you think. I was all "can't do it can't can't-- OH BUNNY" this morning driving to work. The Bombay hills are EXCELLENT writer's inspiration! Or possibly it was the coffee. Who can tell. Heh. Am sure yours will be fab, though, but, yes, for me? Am posting on the grounds of For The Hell Of It + Will Make Joan Happy whenever I finish it. (I love that I take days to finish something that's, like, three paragraphs long. My poor doomed NaNo. HEE ( ... )

My poor doomed NaNo. HEE.) heh! i'm just glad that neither of the things i signed up to have an excessive word count requirement (um, i THINK. i might have to actually check.) which is good as i'm still struggling with turnbull at 300 words (faintly frightening image right there).

legitimate tying up ftw!

(sadly most of what i know about SG1 is via an SG1 watching friend - she loves jack very much indeed. in fact, she also lusts after mycguyver, which i find... disturbing. i have some general knowledge, enough, say, to get ascension jokes. but SG1 is confusing! so much canon. and so much of if apparently pretty much crack in its own right.)

oh, see, you are an unhurt of great intelligence and many smarts. i am a shihadchick of foolishly ambitious goals and much procrastination. :D
but, um, fair. and Turnbull is TRICKY. (so hard to not type 'tricksy', so, so hard.)

(That is fair. I love Jack to a degree which surprised me a lot. Little bugger snuck up on me being all GEEKY and making grammatical swoony things. um. But, fair. And yes, this is true. I am only up to S3 and even I am noticing a lot of that. Mostly I just needed to be sure you would know that Teal'c is a Jaffa, and all that. So, yay.)

thank you and she says thank you too! she also says: more people wished her happy birthday yesterday than, like, ever before (not even counting you guys, who are v much appreciated, too) - in local circles, as well. intriguing. i think she had a good day though, so yay.

The unfortunate thing with people you have known for 22 YEARS (good god) is that they tend to tromp merrily over things like that and ask to read what you've written, which is why I went with the simple 'yes' and then OBFUSCATE OBFUSCATE OBFUSCATE! Hee. But, yes, in other situations I totally use what you said above.
