*sigh* That's the problem with doing a historical-ish piece like this at times. Some parts of our history just... really suck.
Ish, I was afraid of that. My greatest fear was that the coloring would in fact detract from the story rather than add to it. ^^;

You're so evil.
Weird, I had Colors of the Wind playing while I was reading this LOL
But I really do love it when you post a huge doujin like this, I really do enjoy it. BUt again, they always end up with an awesome cliffhanger. ARRGHHH WHY?!

Oh jeez, I bet the ending really killed the mood for that song. ^^;
They don't always do they? Just the angsty ones I think. ...Or maybe I'm more evil than I thought. ^^;

Although ironically John Smith was actually *irl not in any movie* on very good terms with the natives and to be honest he actually left to go do scouting up in Massachusetts and left the colonies to the elemenrs when he died.
I can really feel all the intense emotions in this. Was it at the ending that America stabbed himself or england?...ah no wait england shot him. Damn what a depressing story.
....Luckily half of my family is from massachusetts so I ish going back to the actual thanksgivingness.
Oh one thing about the coloring...it does seem a bit ackwward in terms of shadows and lighting but IDK because I'm not an artist.

Oh yeah, no joke. Course, things pretty much rapidly deteriorated when Pocahontas' father died. England's not exactly like John Smith though - since John Smith had the good sense to know that you're supposed to grow FOOD as well as tobacco if you're supposed to survive. ^^; Alas, if only they listened.
Heh, well the Pilgrim story pretty much is the Thanksgiving story, this one's only slightly related.
Ah okay. Good mental note. ^__^ Thank you!

Oh I did have a lot of fun with native!America though. ^__^ Conceptually anyway. XD And I sometimes just can't help incorporating humor into things. It's just in my bones. It's pretty much a guarantee that something's heinously wrong if I don't managed to put something funny in a long work like this. ^^;
England was unexpectedly charming in this, I do have to admit. I had to stop and wonder if it was actually believable, but I figured that under the circumstances he wasn't really affected by too much heartbreak yet.
Alas, the despicable straw men... Sorry, I have a fundamental problem with people led by greed... -__-
...Actually you may be happy to know I'm thinking about continuing this. ^__^ A more modern day version, because the more research I'm doing, the more fascinated I am with native!America...
:D And I'll do my best!

Ah, the Straw Men. That's a direct reference to the pilgrims (funny that they're called that) in the book Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad, which is about the Belgians who went to the Congo to find ivory. (It's just about one of my favorite books of all time.) They're greedy despicable people. T.S. Eliot also wrote a poem directly referencing them, which I also rather like:

Oh, Native!America, with his blue eyes...is he going to be 'reincarnated' to Alfred?? But US still has some native Americans, right??
Somehow after reading this I long to read a scene in present day, where Alfred notices the ring around Arthur's finger [I hope he still keeps it...] :(
Oh, I love you soo much. Thank you soo much for this 40 pages of coloured goodness. Native!America's chocolate & blue colouring is so starkly beautiful...

Oh, I'm sure England still has it. Whether he actually wears it I think is another matter entirely.
Aww, thank you! ^__^ I'm glad that people liked native!America so much!
